CK is a new Dutch band based in The Hague. I definitely see tons of potential in these guys and working on the song with them was great fun. This recording and mix was my final project at SAE Amsterdam. Melodic pop/rock in the vein of Oasis and The Beatles.

I’m done with school! All assignments are done and turned in and my final project is mixed and mastered. Just have to sweat it out for a couple of weeks until the results are out…

I’m pretty happy with the way the final turned out. The song is called If We Had a Say. It’s co-produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered by yours truly. Have a listen and tell me what you think! :)

i’m going crazy

school has been totally hectic lately. it’s totally crunch time. 2 more months left and everyone is stressing the fuck out about their final projects… myself included. i’ve been in a state of perpetual self-doubt… it’s no good.

sometimes i wish i would be content with a boring desk job somewhere. but i never will be, so i have to deal with these delusions of grandeur and well.. try to make good on them.

just saw this movie last night and i can’t stop thinking about it. i always thought myself rather astute… but this movie is just too open to interpretation and i’m really struggling to come to terms with it.

i really just need to vent to someone about it. has anyone seen it and can shed some more light on it for me?

the future of music

i just read a cool blog post about how r.e.m. has open sourced 11 videos for a song off their new album to encourage listeners to remix the videos and share them on r.e.m.’s youtube page.

this is pretty exciting to hear, not necessarily because i want to participate, but because music is going more visual and interactive. this is something i’ve been predicting for quite some time. and incidentally, it coincides with our plans to market the music we have been producing.

these days people want an all encompassing experience… touching on as many senses as possible. so we’re working on integrating sound, sight and touch into our promotional materials to fulfill those desires and give the end user a new and unique way to experience our music. the days of passing out mix tapes and cd’s are over.

something’s in the air

so for the last week or two i’ve been having some rough mornings. waking up all stuffy and sneezy and seemingly under the weather.

this can only mean one thing: it’s almost spring and my allergies are starting to kick in. although i’m really excited about the prospect of warm sunshine and half-dressed women, i’m really dreading being miserable for a couple hours every morning when i wake up.

i just stumbled upon some of the funniest videos i’ve seen on youtube for a long time…

‘you suck at photoshop’ by donnie hoyle. check em out! they are tutorials covering some photoshop basics. really hilarious and surprisingly informative :)

there are some rumors floating around that it could be either dane cook, or david cross. i’d venture to say it’s more dane cook than david cross, but make the decision for yourself.

i had a conversation with an old friend the other day… and it’s interesting because when we talk, somehow the subjects of marriage and children seem to rear their ugly heads. i have always been very firm on the fact that i don’t want children and really have no desire to ever get married.

well maybe i was wrong… i’m starting to see things a little differently. i’ve had a lot of time to reflect on my life and the choices that i’ve made, my ideals, morals and values; and not surprisingly, i’ve been a selfish asshole.

i thought about my parents… and how it’s wrong that i should deny them the joy of being grandparents. they deserve it.
