“dude, what a disaster” { 5 }
last night i totally soaked my d900… i am so retarded. after i stupidly drenched my really expensive phone (bought in europe = no warranty, unless i ship it overseas which could take months) i ripped the battery out asap and did my best to dry it off. it totally ruined my whole night, which up to that point was going very, very well. it’s not so much that the phone was expensive, but not having one for months while it was in service, or whatever, was my biggest concern. i can’t live without a cell phone.
i woke up this morning with a really dreadful feeling… grabbed the phone, threw the battery in and powered it up. no go, nothing, the screen was dark as night. i pulled out my trusty can of compressed air and went to town on it in the hopes of drying any remaining water. that must have done something, cause when i powered the phone up, it actually turned on! but none of the buttons worked.
that’s when i started to panic. after scouring the internet for a while, i ran across the service manual for the phone so i grabbed it and proceeded to dismantle the thing. took it all apart and cleaned it out with isopropyl alcohol. put everything back together, and boom, it works again…
why do i always do shit like this? last year i soaked my powerbook with beer and had to dismantle the whole thing and clean it out; talk about fucking disasters. why do i stupidly sabotage myself without any conscious or subconscious intention to do so?
anyway, glad everything’s sorted. apparently, jesus loves me.
oh and if anyone needs a service manual for a samsung sgh-d900, feel free to hit me up :)

you friggin’ geek…
I don’t think it’s you sabotoging yourself as much as it is…well…you being a complete klutz. Right? :-P
Hi,
Could you possibly send me the service manual to my email address please?
Well done for repairing the phone. I’m really surprised it still worked – what kind of liquid did you drench it in?
Tim
hey. can u please send me the manual aswell. I accidentally left my phone in the pockets of my jeans, and after I changed Ileft them on the couch which my mum took and threw into the wash. After, I tried to turn it on, but it didnt work … so i let it dry behind the tv fan. A few hours later, I tried turning it on again, it turned on, but the buttons didnt work like yours. So I left it the phone along for the night. In the morning i tried to turn it on, the backlight turned on and it started vibrating like crazy. I took the battery out and the sim and now i dunno wat to do. help ….
i left the phone alone* for the night
