it’s all over every media outlet… david beckham is moving to los angeles to play for the galaxy… well well well, who didn’t see that one coming? there are a lot of mixed emotions about this move from the u.s. soccer community and honestly i don’t know how to feel about it either.

i truly hope that this raises the profile, popularity and marketability of soccer in this country, i really do. but i don’t know if beckham is the answer. overrated? yes. overpaid? definitely. overthehill? absolutely. i can definitely see this backfiring if he doesn’t play well. and with the majority of soccer fans in this country being hispanic, they should have got ronaldinho. regardless, it will be interesting to see if americans will bite. aaaaaaanyway.
